Mrigashira is a soft/mridu nakshatra. Many new activities like marriage, building a house, starting travel, house warming can be done in this nakshatra. When applied to a horoscope, the soft nature is seen when Ascendant of Moon resides in this Nakshatra. For the first half of the nakshatra, Moon is in exaltation. For the second half, it is in Gemini, which is a governed by Mercury. Exalted Moon, Venus and Mercury indicate awareness of what is going on around in life of the person and people around them. The planetary lord is Mars, which denotes some aggression, but overall, qualities and properties of the planets involved indicate an easy-going and lenient approach to life.

Going by the combined qualities of Taurus and Gemini, this nakshatra stands for celebration, creativity. When we taken up new activities in this nakshatra like house warming, marriage, there is indeed celebration and new creation. Therefore, the person born in this nakshatra would imbibe these  characteristics – musicians, writers, media persons etc. would be the likely professions chosen by Mrigshira borns. Their mind is always fertile and active and they are always keen to learn new subjects, new art and new languages.

On the flip side, success can get to their mind if there is a malefic influence. An evolved emotional mind can quickly become arrogant and conceited mind. There is very little chance of being depressed as Moon is closer to its exaltation degrees, hence malefic influence should be predicted as the person becoming overconfident and arrogant. Luxury indicated by Venus can lead to excesses an overindulgence.

Compatibility & Incompatibility
Considering overall Nakshatra based compatibility, Mrigshira nakshatra females are most compatible with Ardra males. Mrigshira is half and half divided between Taurus and Gemini, and the two parts show up different compatibility types. Taurus/Mrigshira are most compatible with Rohini, Ardra and Purva Bhadprada. They are most incompatible with Chitra and Swati. Gemini/Mrigshira females are most compatible with Ardra, Uttara Phalguni and Hasti and not at all compatible with Pushya, Ashlesha, Anuradha and Dhanishtha. Males with Mrigshira Nakshatra show similar characteristics, however this list is not exhaustive. For the overall horoscope match, you should use the horoscope matching application and punch in the right date/place/time of birth for both prospective bride and groom.
