Geocities, RIP

By Kshitij Sharma, August 31, 2009

Yahoo is pulling the plug on Geocities and it will close on October 26, 2009.

The first version of this website went live on Geocities in March of 2001. For a long time, Geocities was the place to serve the static html pages and the applet for this website.

The site had outgrown the “free” services provided by Geocities and I had to move it to its current home. Still, there is a lot of good feelings associated with it and the “sharma_jyotish” nickname I got on the internet.

    Hi,

Wonderful website and great collection of articles. I have a specific query and I understand you don’t encourage such specific queries. But I request you to read this fully, as it concerns some of your interpretations of Mahapurusha yogas.

I’m sure you are aware that some people maintain that Mahapurusha yogas are valid only if the planets are powerful and in a kendra from Lagna. Your article says Lagna or Moon, and quite a number of astrologers take the “Lagna or Moon” position as well. Is there a backing to this?

I have a peculiar situation. If “Lagna or Moon” holds, then I have 4 Mahapurusha Yogas which is feel is not possible at all. My DOB is 4th October, 1984; Time – 18:14 and place – Chennai, India (13N05, 80E16). Pisces Ascendant & Moon in Capricorn. Mercury in Virgo(7 from Kendra); Saturn and Venus in Libra (10 from Moon) and Jupiter in Sagi (10 from Kendra).

I’ve checked my calculations multiple times. I request you to spend a few mins on my chart as it has ramifications for your interpretations. Do share your views on this with me by email, which I’ve mentioned in the box above.

    Thanks & Great Regards!!!

    Vijay
