|Name of the book||चुने हुए ज्योतिष योग|
|Author||Kalidasa, commentary by Jagannath Bhasin|
|Publisher||Ranjan Publications, New Delhi, India|
It is important to realize the genius behind Shri Jagannath Bhasin and his overall contribution to the field of Vedic Astrology in India. This book, like his other one Uttara Kalamrita, is an absolute must for any beginner. These books are in Hindi, but that should not matter as the publisher Ranjan Publications keeps these books both in Hindi and English.
This book would immediately be compared to Three Hundred Important Combinations by Dr. Raman. However, there is no room for comparison. Both of these books are a work of art in their own way and Mr. Bhasin’s books through their content, language, clarity and sheer logic stand out far apart from others.
The books starts with some theory and rules that govern planetary combinations. This book is worth just for this one chapter. It covers Rajayoga, various drishti yogas, bhavat-bhavam, the elements/factors that cause separation, etc. Further, there are 73 different planetary combinations yogas presented in this book. If one has gone through Brihat Parashara Hora Shashtra, these probably would not be new, but then as I mentioned earlier, the logic and explanation is just too good. Without describing this book a lot, I would strongly recommend it.
