There was a question on 11th house and what is signifies. The question was very specific as to why 11th house in a horoscope is considered inauspicious. Eleventh house is indeed considered to be Labhsthana and its karakatva is indicated by income that we earn through our primary means of livelihood. Tenth house in a horoscope is the place that shows us what we are at our place of work and eleventh being second to 10th indicates the money that comes through it. Naturally, a strong 11th house is very important in the chart as in this material world, making good money through our primary means of employment is as important as the job itself.
Among the subjects that we look for from 11th house in a kundali, these are the important ones: profit, motivation and wishes, ambition (with a negative connotation), ability to earn money and an egotistical nature. Since the original question was on the benefic and malefic planet article, the following clarification is necessary:

Going by this logic, the following is the list of inauspicious planets for each Lagna, based purely on 11th house lordship:

| Aries | Saturn | Saturn is both 10th and 11th house Lord for Aries lagna. It does not suffer from Kendradhipati dosha as it is a natural malefic, but it is inauspicious because of 11th house lordship. It is neutral, but cannot give any rajayoga. |
| Taurus | Jupiter | Jupiter owns both 8th and 11th houses. 8th house rulership is neutral, but overall inauspicious for the lagna. |
| Gemini | Mars | Sign of Aries falls in 11th house and so Mars is the 11th house lord. It is simultaneously lord of 6th house also. Therefore, as far as Gemini goes, Mars is “first rate malefic.” By the way, this is a terminology that you will hear a lot of astrologers use. |
| Cancer | Venus | Venus is lord of 11th house, hence inauspicious. Venus is natural benefic, but lets look at what is the other house in its governance. It is the 4th house, but Venus will get a taint of kendradhipati dosha. Hence it is overall inauspicious. |
| Leo | Mercury | Mercury ruled sign Gemini falls in the 11th house. Hence Mercury becomes inauspicious for Leo kundali. |
| Virgo | Moon | Moon becomes inauspicious for Virgo lagna. |
| Libra | Sun | Sun becomes inauspicious in such horoscopes. |
| Scorpio | Mercury | Like treatment we gave to Jupiter for Taurus lagna, same applies to Mercury. Overall it becomes inauspicious. |
| Sagittarius | Venus | Similar to Mars’ effect on Gemini, Venus has the same effect by ownership of 6th and 11th houses in the kundali. It is “first rate malefic”. |
| Capricorn | Mars | Similar to Cancer, but here Mars does not get kendradhipati dosha in Capricorn horoscope. It is tainted, but not so much as Venus is for Cancer. |
| Aquarius | Jupiter | Jupiter is definitely inauspicious. But it has simultaneous ownership of 2nd house as well. It governs money in this chart. |
| Pisces | Saturn | Saturn governs affairs of both 11th and 12th house as the signs of Capricorn and Aquarius fall in these houses. It is therefore overall inauspicious. |
By being inauspicious, it means that the lord, by virtue of its placement in any other house will harm the prospects and factors signified by it. However, 2nd house is an exception to it if the 11th lord were to be located there. If you pay attention to the table above, the 11th Lord does not get exalted in 2nd house in a kundali, except for Leo, but a friendly placement does happen in case of Aries, Taurus, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius lagnas.

For Taurus ascendant, Jupiter is functional malefic. However, according to Brihat Prashara Hora Shastra, this malefic gets canceled if Jupiter is in its mooltrikona sign. However this is over ruled by some astrologers. I would rather look at Jupiter as Jupiter and Saturn as Saturn irrespective of functional malefic or benefic.
In western astrology, functional nature is not considered but saying so I am not taking away our great vedas and vedic astrology, but since our vedic astrology is more complex to understand there are very few who could read it well, I think functional nature needs deep study, for instance irrespective of Saturn and its position its transit such as sade sathi will be devastating for many and so as Jupiter considered a good planet will have overall good results irrespective of in which house Jupiter is located as it always tend to bestow good results as per significance of that house.
For instance 8th house is also inheritance so during Jupiter dasha one can expect inheritance in terms of money, etc from their family members, overall it only try to address good characteristics of that house than bad & hence one would say the best positions of good planets are its trikona (1,5,9) or kendra(1,4,6,10) houses because the characteristics of these houses will only contain good but not bad.
A good planet in bad house also signify that the effect of that house to individual will be reduced where otherwise could have been devastating if such dustana houses afflicted with any natural malefic. It is also said that if a malefic in good house then its good characteristics are destroyed, that’s right a bad planet is a bad planet which is capable of breaking rules.

In Mesha Lagna Saturn in own house gives Sasa Yoga. Inspite of Saturn being the lord of 10th and 11th house it yet gives a Maha Purush Yoga. You might like to revise your inference about 11th House Lord. When Brihar Prasar Hora was written it was a different time . Today , in Kalyug the inferences are different- Ego. desire and selfish focus are critical to success today.

Moon being the eleventh lord in case of virgo lagna, but it has not done any harm during its dasa period.
moon sitting in 7th house in virgo lagna has given exceptionally good by nature, physically beautiful and also by thoughts.
saturn and sun occupy eleventh viewed by jupiter. jupiteralso views moon.and 9th house. Moon is in uttarabhadrapada and sun in pushya.
