Hello Readers,

I have been reading the comments posted to the article – “Strong third house…” and have enjoyed all the comments. Thanks a ton to Anand, Divya Jyoti and Basab Roy for making my effort of maintaining this site worthwhile.

I see a need for a forum where users can register and discuss various aspects of Vedic Astrology. Although there are already tons of sites that give you an option to do that, I just hope there are other things about planetarypositions.com that will attracts the readers here.

In our lab, we have Chemistry group meetings where we discuss research work done by other chemistry labs and offer our critique/analysis/bouquets/brickbats. There is an element of objectivity to this and generally brings about a great discussion wherein lab members will shoot holes through each others arguments. It is all done in a very healthy atmosphere. Sometimes somebody may even disagree with the professor.

Something on those lines here too would be great. Though I am not in great favour of people just walking and asking for predictions. People have to offer a detailed analysis first to any problem chart they bring in, so that it doesn’t become a “please analyse my chart and suggest remedies”. Then the rest can offer their insight, in detail. This will also serve as a log of our analysis, so we can go back to it if needed.

This will most likely be for members who are a little more advanced in their pursuit of astrology. And Kshitij can be the overall moderator as to what can and cannot be put.

    My two-paise worth.

I have a question about the degrees of the planets. as far as i knew the degrees determined where the planets are placed in the bhava or the chalit chart and also are a way to judge the power of the plantets. The higher the degree the more powerful it is. but recently my friend who is also an astrology enthusiastic, told me that she has recently come across a book called the modern astrology which said that the lower the degree of the planet the more powerful it is in the house it is posited in the lagna chart. for example if rahu is in the lagna at 3.5 degrees strength then it is 100% powerful in that house. it the degree crosses 7.5 then it is 75% powerful, if it crosses 15 degrees then only 50% powerful and so on. I would really like to know if this is accurate? and also if my previous beliefs about the degrees were correct. thank u so much..please do advise..

    Dear Sir,

I seek your advice in one situation. I got my horoscope matched and scored full except at one point where nadi is same. There is no other dosa except nadi. Should i go ahead with this proposal? Do i need to get some pooja done to nullify this dosa?

    KInly advice

I am matching charts of my daughter and a boy (prospective match for her. Bride- (Aug. 18, 1983 13:07 hrs, Timezone: 5.00W DST(yes) 43N39, 79W23) and groom- (Nov. 1, 1978 00:05 hrs., Timezone: 5.30E DST(No) 29N52 77E53) . I used your software and the total NakshatraMatch is 21.0 points. However, GrahaMaitri is only 0.5, Varna and Gana 0. Do you think we can still proceed with this proposal? Kindly advise as I want to be certain.

Thanks a lot for your help.
