When I was a kid, my hobby was collecting stamps. I started at the age of 10 and till the time I went to college, I kept buying all sorts of stamps – Indian, foreign… all shapes and sizes. At one time, I had a full book of over a thousand stamps. I was quite proud of the collection that contained some of the very first stamps of India, those issued on the day of Indian independence, Republic Day etc. Then one day, someone stole the entire collection. Not one stamp, not a page, but the entire collection. I was distraught but could not do much. We could never figure out who stole the stamp book. We have our suspects, but could never prove anything.

An interesting perspective on luck (or just maybe destiny) that I read in the Economic Times today on luck and corporate success. Just want to bring to your attention, and let you yourself make something out of it, rather than me going on a rant about Astrology 🙂
Even in Satyuga, there was a washerman (dhobi) who doubted Rama and Sita and Sita had to prove herself through agnipariksha…
This Kaliyuga has mere mortals like me who doubted the God (of cricket) and had written him off. Continue reading
There was a comment made seemingly by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan here…
One of the readers of the website, Santosh Kulkarni, pointed me to this wonderful information on books on Vedic Astrology. One of his relatives, Shri Virupaksha Rao Kulkarni, who is a practicing astrologer, found out about Chowkambha Publications in Varanasi. Almost all of the classical texts on astrology are published by them. Some of these books are available in e-book format on
High school mathematics introduces the concept of continuous and differentiable functions as the first steps of calculus.
