Jupiter will be in Virgo (Kanya) Rashi from August 11, 2016 to September 12th 2017. It would enter the sign of Virgo, ruled by Mercury during late hours of August 11th for a horoscope cast for Bangalore, India. Jupiter will be in Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra to begin with. It will move to Hasta on 28th September and then to Chitra on 4th December. During retrogression, it will again be in Hasta and Chitra nakshatra. It will be debilitated in Navamsha as soon as it moves to Virgo. It becomes retrograde in Virgo on February 6th, 2017, while it less than a degree of getting out of Virgo. It becomes direct on June 9th, 2017.
Guru asta (combustion) begins on September 12, 2016 and ends on October 10, 2016.
During this period, there are various planets that will have drishti on Jupiter. These aspects will modify their overall effect on various rashis as well as the mundane perspective. However, long term dristis of Saturn or Rahu/Ketu are missing for good effect. Jupiter will be able to do its job. Jupiter will have its drishti/aspect on its own sign of Pisces and debilitation sign of Capricorn, strengthening its own sign and have an inauspicious affect on the Capricorn sign. The effect of Jupiter’s transit is on three main levels, which are described below.
Guru gives auspicious results transiting through these houses from Ascendant or Moon – 2nd House, 5th House, 7th House, 9th House and 11th House. For the rest of the houses, the overall effect is adverse, i.e. adverse affect will be felt if Jupiter is transiting through the janma rashi, 3rd House, 4th House, 6th House, 8th House, 10th House and 12th House. Out of these, 11th House transit of Jupiter is highly auspicious transit. At the same time, 3rd House transit of Jupiter as counted from rashi or lagna is highly inauspicious. It is the worst transit of Jupiter. Based on these principles, we can summarize the results for various rashis as follows:

Jupiter has drishti on 11th house and it will mean bigger and better chances of earning money through association of learned people and through higher status in ones social surroundings. This is a great period for students as they are taken towards higher learning and opportunities. Spiritual knowledge will grow. Jupiter directly aspect the ascendant from 5th house and this will give you strength – be tough and work hard. |

Relationship with mother can become tough. Be careful with litigation related to property. However, the period would still feel good since you just came out of even worse 3rd House transit. This period brings stability in some sense. This will be a reasonable period at work since Jupiter aspects its own sign in 10th house. Still too many principles, use of logic will hamper relations with superiors if they are looking for loyalty. It will be an interesting year to handle office politics, or government officials, if you are in a business. |
| 4. | Cancer | 3rd House | Inauspicious | Jupiter’s transit through 3rd house is usually very inauspicious and is only mitigated when the overall chart is strong. This transit usually brings in a change of place or separation in form of short travels, which may not be fruitful. This transit causes restlessness. Diseases become worse especially during Jupiter’s retrograde motion. There is general failures in new projects. Still, at this time, the person usually indulges in a lot of self promotion and marketing, through spoken and written communication. Friends do not help. Relationship with spouse can be tough, since Capricorn is debilitation sign of Jupiter in 7th house. Money situation will be good due to Jupiter’s aspect on 11th house since Jupiter is natural karaka of gains and is intimately related to the 11th house. |
| 5. | Leo | 2nd House | Auspicious | This is a rewarding transit. Mental satisfaction occurs because domestic life is peaceful. This is a period of expansion of wealth along with investment in property. At work, promotion can happen if you have worked hard during the previous cycle. Problems with enemies/competitors are indicated and life will not be easy. Take care of health as well, but there will not be any chronic problems. You will be fortunate at the place of work, but at the same time, government of the day will not be helpful. Those involved in research will do well. |

It can also give overconfidence to individuals, which may not work out in your favour and can result in failures and disappointment. This can cause problems with property and also harassment from government. Education and kids can have problems. Those pursuing high studies will benefit from this transit. |

You can do exceptionally well if you are involved in service industry, related to medical, legal or similar fields. |
| 8. | Scorpio | 11th House | Auspicious | Scorpio rashi borns will experience the best transit of Jupiter, which will be a very welcome change for you since your sadhe sati is going on. This indicates good income and flow of money. Promotion at work and respect from peers is accompanied with this transit. This is an extremely rewarding period for students – gain of knowledge in their areas of work. Still, there is a big possibility of you feuding with your siblings. Motivation to work will be low, and that may reduce the overall gains that you expect. Good period to be married, have a good time with your partner and for business partnerships. |
| 9. | Sagittarius | 10th House | Inauspicious | This will be a tough transit for Sagittarius individuals, since it is also accompanied with Sadhe sati. Domestic issues & family problems could cause stress. At work, put in ample amount of hard work. Not in this year, but definitely in the next year will you see the effort being paid off. Caution and discipline – this is the key in this year. Real estate transactions will be rewarding. Take care of your health. Controlled eating and strict dieting will be required otherwise too much sugar in the system can cause long term problems. |
| 10. | Capricorn | 9th House | Auspicious | Jupiter is the natural signifactor of 9th house. Hence, logically, 9th house transit is a very auspicious transit for Jupiter. For Capricorn borns, Jupiter is also aspecting this rashi during 2015-2016 transit. Overall, this transit indicates wealth accumulation and respect from others. Kids will do well. This is also a good period to recreate lost rapport with siblings. This is a good period for students as scholarship is indicated. This period also indicates recognition from government. However, your rashi is debilitation sign for Jupiter. Hence, an aspect on ascendant is not good for health. |
| 11. | Aquarius | 8th House | Inauspicious | This is not a good transit as it indicates hidden obstacles from all areas. It also indicates health problems. Travel is indicated, but it is usually accompanied with fatigue. Foreign journeys and change of place is indicated but they will not cheer you up. Jupiter during retrogression will indicate loss of near and dear ones, loss of wealth and fear of litigation. Any auspicious transit through 8th house indicates gains through inheritance. Family will be there to support you even through emotional problems. Be careful with real estate transactions, especially if lot of marketing and sales pressure is indicated. |
| 12. | Pisces | 7th House | Auspicious | This is a good transit that indicates happiness with spouse. It also indicates favours from those near you. Travel will be auspicious. Financial gain, prosperity, especially in new enterprises is indicated. You will be able to create new “partners” in success and grow your support circle. Your own fortune will grow. Even though Capricorn in 11th house is debilitation sign for Jupiter, this will not be a big problem for Pisces borns as Jupiter is natural karaka for 11th house of gains and Jupiter’s aspect will not create problems. |
