Notable Horoscopes
| Name of the book | Notable Horoscopes |
| Author | Dr. B. V. Raman |
| Publisher | Motilal Banarasidas, New Delhi, India |
There are seventy six horoscopes studied in this book. Dr. Raman has selected them from a wide range of personalities to present in this book - from one end of spectrum containing horoscopes of Sri Krishna, Gautam Buddha and Jesus Christ to the other end - Hitler, Mussolini etc. Each of the horoscopes is accompanied with a thorough analysis and every student of astrology should be able to follow the simple and elegant line of reasoning.
The birth data used in this book for some of the charts, e.g. Jesus Christ, Sri Krishna etc. is a matter of research and the author calls these as speculative horoscopes. In such cases, care has been taken to ensure that the planetary positions do corroborate with those mentioned in the scriptures. Dr. Raman fixes the date of birth of these luminaries on the basis of such research. Sri Krishna’s date of birth is calculated to be 19th July, 3228 BC, that of Gautam Buddha is 14th April, 623 BC and that of Adi Shankaracharya is 25th March, 44 BC.
The last horoscope in the book is of himself and although it might sound pretentious, in reality it is not. Because of the “awareness that an objective assessment of ones horoscope may be quite beyond the capacity”, he has not tried to analyze his chart himself and rather yields to Mr. S. Rajagopala Iyer.
