This book on horoscope compatibility is divided in two parts. Part 1 deals with guna milap and their importance in determining compatibility. Most of the attributes like yoni, graha maitri, nadi, vashya and varna have been taken care of in the chart matching application on this site and my point of view has been described in the article presented here. There are some more compatibility attributes like Dina, Mahendra and Rajju kuta are considered important, mainly in South India and have been described in the first part of this book. The books also describes Manglik Dosha and the requirement of balancing of dosha due to malefic influences of other planets - Sun, Rahu/Ketu, Saturn as well, although I must say I disagree with some of the exceptions that are mentioned in this book for Manglik Dosha. I learnt an important concept of “dosha samyam” from this book. It tell us how when matching two charts, one chart that has a particular weak bhava, should be matched with another horoscope where the same bhava is strong.
In the second part, the author describes to judge happiness, distress or separation in married life and possibility of denial of marriage from a horoscope by analyzing the effect of position of seventh house lord in various houses and its combination with other planets in the horoscope. The author also describes cases of multiple marriages and combinations leading to love marriage as seen from a birth chart.
All in all, it is a good book to purchase, read and learn from. The book is not just about learning rules to judge horoscope compatibility. By learning how seventh house work towards making marriage a successful one, we can extrapolate the knowledge, apply it to other bhavas and learn to be a better astrologers.
